ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team defeated the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (Pa.) and Grove City (Pa.) College in a non-conference doubleheader hosted by the University of Mount Union in Timken Gymnasium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
BW (7-2) used an entire team effort to take down down Pitt-Bradford (1-7) in straight sets by scores of 25-6, 25-15, and 25-13 allowing only 34 points and 12 kills to the Panthers. The Yellow Jackets then swept Grove City (5-5) by scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-15 for their fifth sweep of the season.

- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/St. Joseph Academy) tallied a game-high 16 digs
- Senior All-OAC hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) and freshman middle hitter Josie Lynn (Wabash, Ind./Northfield) led the team with six kills
- Junior Academic All-OAC setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) finished with 24 assist, 15 digs, and four service aces
- Senior outside hitter Sydney Simonson (Sullivan/Black River) picked up four total blocks
- Senior Academic All-OAC defensive specialist Ashleigh Curtiss (Bollingbrook, Ill.) added three aces
- Sophomore middle hitter Elysia Zehner (Ashland) registered her first collegiate kill
- Senior Academic All-OAC right-side hitter Alyssa Weiner (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales) and junior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Ella Rogers (Painesville/Mentor) recorded two kills each
- Three freshmen Yellow Jackets recorded new career-highs: outside hitter Bella Martinez (Newark) finished with three kills, setter Maggie Hilliard (West Bloomfield, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) tallied four assists, and outside hitter Lyla Nash (Berkey/Evergreen) added three digs
vs. Grove City
- Junior outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) totaled a game-high 12 kills and added three block assists
- Senior outside hitter Brinn MacLellan (Novelty/Gilmour Academy) finished 10 kills and five digs
- Blazetic added 36 assists and six digs to her totals on the weekend
- Gardner recorded a career-high six service aces and added 14 digs
- Lynn had five block assists, Rueda had three, and Simonson had two
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, September 20 as they travel to Albion, Michigan for an invitational hosted by Albion (Mich.) College at Kresge Gymnasium. On Friday, BW will take on Albion at 7:30 p.m. and, on Saturday, will take on the University of Chicago (Ill.) at 12 p.m. and Manchester (Ind.) University at 2:30 p.m.
