WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team defeated Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College by a final score of 3-1 in a non-conference matchup in the Salvitti Family Gymnasium at the Henry Memorial Center.
BW (9-5) got back in the win column with a four-set victory over W&J (9-8) by hitting .266 and limiting the Presidents to a hitting percentage of .080 to open Brown and Gold weekend.
BW Leaders
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) led the team with 13 kills hitting .367 on 30 attempts
- Senior All-OAC libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/St. Joseph Academy) had a game-high 28 digs to pick up her 250th of the season and moved to sixth on BW's all-time digs list
- Senior outside hitter Brinn MacLellan (Novelty/Gilmour Academy) finished with a statline of 10 kills, six digs, and three block assists
- Junior Academic All-OAC setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) collected her 500th assist of the season and led all players with 42
- Freshman middle hitter Josie Lynn (Wabash, Ind./Northfield) tallied 10 kills and three block assists
- Senior outside hitter Sydney Simonson (Sullivan/Black River) had four total blocks for the third time this season and added six kills
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) was the fourth Yellow Jacket to reach 10 kills and added three block assists

- Senior setter Adrianna Sacramento had a team-best 20 assists
- Junior libero Piper McFarland tallied 19 digs
- Sophomore outside hitter Rian Benz led the team with 10 kills
