Men's Soccer Earns Shutout Win Over Olivet (Mich.)

OLIVET, Mich. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team defeated the University of Olivet (Mich.) by a final score of 2-0 in the final non-conference game of the season at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

BW (5-3-3) snapped a three-game winless skid by locking down Olivet (5-3) to earn the team's fourth shutout win of the season. The Brown and Gold defense has held opponents to 0.82 goals per game this season while the offense has outscored the opposition with an average of 2.27 goals per game. 

BW Leaders

  • Senior defender Colin Robinson (Hilliard/Bishop Watterson) scored his first career goal to give BW the lead in his sixth career start
  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Owen Reyes (North Olmsted) collected his team-leading fifth goal of the season
  • Junior Academic All-OAC midfielder Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) tallied his third assist of the season and now leads the team
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) totaled four saves

Olivet Leaders

  • Junior midfielder Kyle Buchan and junior forward Braden Abbott led the Comets with three shots each
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Nicholas Van Port Fleet recorded a game-high seven saves

  • 14:42 - Reyes extended the lead with a goal from Skladany

  • The Yellow Jackets outshot the Comets 8-7
