BEREA, Ohio - The No. 12 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team extended their win streak to 14 games by defeating the Marietta College Pioneers by a score of 81-38 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup in Ursprung Gymnasium at the Lou Higgins Recreation Center.
BW Leaders (14-1, 8-0 OAC)
- Senior All-OAC guard/forward Caely Ressler (Napoleon) led the Jackets with a career-high 25 points, two steals and six rebounds
- Senior All-OAC guard Emily Irwin (Pickerington/Pataskala Watkins Memorial) scored six points and sophomore guard Maddie Ebbert (Lake Orion, Mich.) scored seven points as both shot 100% in field goal percentage and free throw percentage
- Sophomore guard Ava Wilkerson (West Mansfield/Marysville) totaled eight points, three assists and one steal
- Junior Academic All-OAC guard Alyssa Miller (New Philadelphia) had four points, seven rebounds and one block
- Sophomore guard Kayla Jones (Grove City) contributed a team-high seven assists
Marietta Leaders (10-5, 4-4 OAC)
- Senior guard Paige Tolson led the Pioneers with nine points and an assist
- Sophomore guard Abby Garner had four points, one block and one steal
- Senior guard Adi Hill had six points, three rebounds and one steal
1st Quarter (20-7)
- Ressler opened the scoring for the Jackets scoring their first eight points
- BW went on an 18-0 run to start the quarter and only allowed seven points
2nd Quarter (43-18)
- BW held the Pioneers scoreless for the first four minutes of the quarter
- Jones totaled four of her seven assists
3rd Quarter (66-30)
- Irwin had four assists
- BW went 100% on three-point attempts
4th Quarter (81-38)
- BW outscored Marietta 15-8
- Sophomore guard Taylor Bass (Strongsville) had three points and one rebound
The Yellow Jackets will look to remain undefeated in conference play as they travel to Univeristy Heights for an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against crosstown rival John Carroll University on Wednesday January 22nd at 7 p.m. in the DeCarlo Varsity Center.
