BEREA, Ohio – In its first home match of the season, the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team shut out NCAA Division II Ursuline College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
BW (2-2) won two doubles matches and six singles matches. Ursuline (0-3) won one doubles matches.
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 6-1
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at second doubles by a score of 6-1
- Junior Academic All-OAC Saraphina Groh (Cuyahoga Falls) and sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) fell at third doubles by a score of 7-5
Singles
- Andersen won at first singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Koutouras won at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
- Groh won at third singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
- Brown won at fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
- Thielen won at fifth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
- Slutz won at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, October 5 when it hosts a non-conference match against NCAA Division II Clarion (Pa.) University at 1 p.m.
