BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team won its second straight match as it defeated NCAA Division II Clarion (Pa.) University in a non-conference match by a final score of 6-1 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
BW (3-2) won three doubles matches and five singles matches. Clarion (1-7) won one singles matches.
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 7-6 (7-2)
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at second doubles by a score of 6-3
- Junior Academic All-OAC Saraphina Groh (Cuyahoga Falls) and sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) won at third doubles by forfeit
Singles
- Andersen won at first singles by identical scores of 6-3
- Koutouras won at second singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Groh fell at third singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Brown won at fourth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
- Thielen won at fifth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
- Slutz won at sixth singles by forfeit
The Yellow Jackets close out the fall season on Saturday, October 25 when they host a non-conference match against Carlow (Pa.) University at 1 p.m.
