Late Second-Half Surge Not Enough as Men's Basketball Falls to Washington and Jefferson (Pa.)

BEREA, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team fell to Washington & Jefferson College in a non-conference matchup, 82-68, inside Ursprung Gymnasium to open the 2025-26 home slate.


BW Leaders (0-2)

  • Junior Academic All-OAC guard Titus Baskerville IV (Stow-Munroe Falls) finished with a team-high 14 points and recorded four rebounds

  • Senior guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland/St Edward) finished with 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds

  • Junior forward Isaac Richardson (Avon Lake) recorded nine points in a strong second-half effort

  • Junior forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) tallied 12 points and had a team-high nine rebounds

W&J Leaders (1-1)

  • Junior forward Nolan Plotner recorded a double-double with 14 rebounds to go along with his 19 points, six steals and three blocks

  • Senior guard Matt Seidl finished with 11 points and four rebounds

  • Senior guard Nick Colucci added 11 points and was efficient from the field, going four-for-five

First Half (W&J 39-38)

  • Plotner opened up the scoring with a three-pointer in the opening minutes

  •  BW came out on fire from beyond the arc, as they started 6 of 12 in the first 9:20 of the game, taking a 22-10 lead

  • W&J fired right back at the Jackets with a 9-0 run, making the score 22-19 with 9:01 left in the first half

  • Junior Academic All-OAC guard Titus Baskerville IV (Stow-Munroe Falls) drilled two straight three-pointers to stretch the BW lead to 34-21 with 5:35 left in the first half

  • W&J caused 9 Yellow Jacket turnovers, resulting in 16 points for the Presidents

  •  The Brown and Gold outrebounded W&J 19-17 on the glass

 Second Half (W&J 82-68)

  • Seidl recorded the first points of the half with a layup in the opening minute

  • W&J increased their lead to nine at the 15:24 mark with a Colucci layup

  • The Presidents continued to hound the Yellow Jackets with full-court pressure, resulting in layups off of BW turnovers

  • The teams continued to trade baskets as Washington & Jefferson carried the lead throughout the half and walked away with the victory.

  • Richardson tallied 7 points for the Yellow Jackets in the second half

  • BW outrebounded W&J 22-18 on the glass in the second half
