No. 9 Women's Basketball Has Strong Second Half to Defeat Oberlin

Written by Athletic Communications Student Assistant AJ Schultz '27

OBERLIN, Ohio - The No. 9 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace women's basketball team continued their winning streak as they defeated Oberlin College by a final score of 60-45 inside the Philips Gymnasium.

BW (3-1) couldn't convert on quality looks in the first half but was able to show some resiliency as they came back from an eight-point deficit at the half. A suffocating fourth quarter on the defensive end combined with efficient scoring on the offensive end enabled the Yellow Jackets to run the Yeowomen out of the gym down the stretch.

  • Academic All-OAC guard/forward Kayla Jones (Grove City) tallied 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and three steals
  • The Women's Yellow Jacket of the Week, Brooke Thompson (Maineville/Little Miami), recorded eight points, grabbed six rebounds, and had two steals as well
  • Senior guard Kaycie Badylak (Cincinnati/Archbishop McNicholas) lit it up from deep with three crucial three-pointers as she had nine points
