BEREA, Ohio – NWCA All-American Scholar and women's wrestler Gillian Coulson (Lakewood) has been named the Yellow Jacket Women's Athlete of the month for November 2025. 

To be considered for the monthly honor, a female student-athlete must have been nominated for at least one Ohio Athletic Conference weekly award in her respective sport but have not received the weekly accolade. From the pool of nominees, members of the Athletic Communications staff, together with student assistants from the department's social media team, select the monthly winner.

The sophomore's most notable achievement for the season in four tournaments so far is her first-place finish in the BW Women's Open, winning three pinfalls: 1:21, 45 seconds, and 4:38 to win the 160-pound division in a meet that had unscored team results.

Coulson has competed in all four meets so far in the 2025-2026 season. She also came in third place in the 160-pound division at the John Carroll Round Robin season opener. In the other two meets she has competed in, she did not place, but she won two pinfalls at Albion (Mich.). Open and won two pinfalls at the Adrian (Mich.) Open.

In her BW career, Coulson has 23 wins in 16 total meets over the course of two years with the Brown and Gold. She has the opportunity to add to these totals as the Yellow Jackets have five more meets before the NCAA Regional Championships.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action when they compete at Hiram College for the Terrior Round Robin. Competition is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and will run throughout the afternoon.
