ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University softball team won its 10th straight game it swept Ohio Northern University in. an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader inside Durbin-Hileman Stadium.
BW (11-1, 4-0 OAC) won the first game by a final score of 3-1 and took the night cap by a final score of 9-8.
In game one, the Yellow Jackets scored three runs on six hits as they plated one run in the first and two in the third. Ohio Northern (7-15, 2-2 OAC) scored one run on five hits as it pushed its lone run across the plate in the second.
At the Plate
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC shortstop Lucia Wolford (McDonald) went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and the game-winning run batted-in (RBI)
- Sophomore left fielder Sam Peterkoski (Berea/Berea-Midpark) went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored
- Senior All-OAC catcher Bridie Bricker (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) went 1-for-3 with a double and RBI
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC first baseman Gillian Ryser (Hubbard) went 1-for-3 with a RBI
In the Circle
- Senior All-OAC right hander Marisa Hall (Paris/East Canton) won her sixth game of the season as she allowed one run on five hits with one strikeout and two walks in a complete game effort.
In game two, BW scored nine runs on a season-high 16 hits as it plated three runs in the first, two in the third, three in the sixth and one in the seventh. The Polar Bears scored eight runs as they pushed one run across the plate in the first, one in the fifth and tied the game with a six run sixth.

- Peterkoski went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, the game-winning RBI and
- Wolford went 3-for-5 with a run scored
- Ryser went 2-for-5 with a career-high three runs scored
- Bricker went 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and three RBIs
- Junior All-OAC pitcher Maddie Lester (Boardman) went 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI
- Three other Yellow Jacket hitters had a base knock highlighted by the two RBI performance from junior Academic All-OAC third baseman Sam Smearman (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark)
In the Circle
- Lester got the start and the no decision as she allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits with two walk and two strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched
- Hall won her second game of the day as she pitched the final 1.2 innings while allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout
BW is back in action on Thursday, April 3 when it hosts a rescheduled non-conference doubleheader against Geneva (Pa.) College on the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex at 3:30 p.m.
