GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five Baldwin Wallace University baseball student-athletes have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must have been competed in compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. While pitchers, must have made 17 appearances, or pitched in 25 innings.
Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference right hander Vince Dolcemaschio (Los Angeles/Winward School), senior All-OAC outfielder Joey Marousek (North Royalton), senior All-OAC righty Dylan Snyder (Stow/Archbishop Hoban), junior All-OAC left hander pitcher Brit Kostura (Teqesta, Fla./Jupiter Christian School) and junior All-OAC right hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley) all earned all-district honors and now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on July 1.
Dolcemaschio, who garners his first career district honor, carried a 4.00 grade point average in sport management. This season, he made 15 appearances with 11 starts and had a 9-1 one record. Dolcemaschio led the OAC with his is career-best nine victories and a career-high 85.1 innings pitched. He was tied for sixth in the league with 59 strikeouts and was ninth in the conference with a career-best 3.38 earned run average (ERA). Dolcemaschio was an All-OAC first team selection, the OAC Pitcher of the Week on March 31 and April 14 and named to the OAC All-Tournament Team. For his career, Dolcemaschio made 31 appearances with 23 starts for a career record of 16-3. He allowed 79 runs (68 earned) in 162 innings pitched with 123 strikeouts and 25 walks. Dolcemaschio was a two-time All-OAC honoree. Off the diamond, he is an Academic All-OAC selection, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries.
Marousek, who earns his first career district accolade, carried a 4.000 grade point average in engineering. This season, he appeared and started in all 43 games. Marousek was tied for fourth in the OAC with 56 hits and was eighth in stolen bases with 17. He had a .350 batting average (56-of-160) with 44 runs scored, 32 runs batted-in (RBIs), career-best 16 walks, seven doubles and a career-high tying two triples. Marousek was an honorable mention All-OAC selection and the OAC Hitter of the Week on March 31. For his career, Marousek appeared in 115 games with 109 starts. He batted .336 (135-of-402) with 97 runs scored, 79 RBIs, 44 stolen bases, 36 walks, 17 doubles, four triples and one homerun. Marousek was a two-time All-OAC selection, 25th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year finalist and a 2024 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region 7 selection. Off the diamond, Marousek was a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Synder, who garners his first career district honor, carried a 3.941 grade point average in finance. This season, he appeared in 10 games with six starts and had a record of 3-3. Snyder had an earned run average (ERA) of 4.63 in 35 innings pitched. He allowed 28 runs (18 earned) with 19 strikeouts. For his career, Snyder appeared in 36 games with 19 starts on the mound. He had a career record of 7-3 with one save. Snyder finished with a 4.07 career ERA in 121.2 inning pitched. He allowed 70 runs (55 earned) with 78 strikeouts and 63 walks. Snyder was a 2023 All-OAC honorable mention pick. Off the diamond, he was a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries.
Kostura, who earns his first career district accolade, carries a 3.972 grade point average in sustainability and finance. This season, Kostura appeared in 12 games with nine starts for a record of 5-1. He allowed 26 runs (23 earned) for a 3.07 earned run average (ERA). Kostura struck out a career-high 63 batters with 20 walks in 67.1 innings pitched. For his efforts, Kostura became just third player in program history and the second in a row to be named the Kent Tekulve OAC Co-Pitcher of the Year. He also earned his first All-OAC honor as he was a first team honoree. Kostura was a D3baseball.com All-American fifth team selection, an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region VII second team honoree. He threw the fifth no-hitter in program history on May 2 against John Carroll University. He was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week and the NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention on May 7, the OAC Pitcher of the Week on May 5, and was a part of the OAC All-Tournament Team. For his career, Kostura has appeared in 22 games with 10 starts. He has a career record of 5-1 with one save in 84.0 innings pitched. Kostura has allowed 30 runs (26 earned) for a career ERA of 2.79. Off the diamond, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of Alpha Chi Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries.
Walker, who garners his first career district honor, carries a 3.570 grade point average in data analytics and finance. This season, he made a career-best 16 appearances with four starts for a 2-1 record. Walker had a 6.25 earned run average (ERA) in 36.0 inning pitched. He allowed 34 runs (25 earned) with 33 strikeouts and 22 walks. For his career, Walker has appeared in 44 games with 20 starts for a 13-3 record. He has a career ERA of 4.54 in 136.2 innings pitched. Walker has allowed 83 runs (69 earned) with 118 strikeouts and 56 walks. He was the 2024 Kent Tekulve OAC Pitcher of the Year, a 2024 All-OAC first team selection, American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region VII honoree and a 2024 All-OAC Tournament Team pick. Off the diamond, Walker is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's list student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
BW finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 32-15 and a 13-5 mark in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets won the OAC Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.
