BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletic Communications Jeff Miller '96 is pleased to announce that Evan Moeller and Hugh Thorp have been selected as Athletic Communications Graduate Assistants for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 academic years.

Moeller and Thorp, who begin their duties on August 4, will assist Miller with media relations efforts for BW's 28 intercollegiate athletic teams. In addition, they will help operate and produce content for the athletic video boards and media production on the scoreboards at Finnie Stadium and Ursprung Gymnasium, as well as support the Yellow Jackets' web streams on FloSports and FloCollege.

Moeller, a native of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, comes to BW after serving as a game day supervisor for the Pittsburgh Pirates and as a game day coordinator with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. He will serve as the primary media contact for cross country, lacrosse, track and field, volleyball, and women's basketball.

Moeller earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing from the University of Dayton in 2024. While at Dayton, he served as the sports information director for the Flyers' cross country and track & field programs for two years.

Moeller has also held roles as a 50/50 ticket seller for the Pittsburgh Steelers, a box office operations manager for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters, and a stat crew member for Duquesne University.

Thorp, a native of Mentor, Ohio, earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Eastern Michigan University in May 2025. He will serve as the primary media contact for baseball, bowling, men's basketball, and soccer.

During his time at Eastern Michigan, Thorp was a media relations intern in the Department of Athletic Media Relations for three years. He also served as a sportswriter for the student newspaper, The Eastern Echo, for two years.

Additionally, Thorp has held roles as a marketing and promotions intern with the Lake County Captains, an independent journalist, and a media relations intern with Siena (N.Y.) University men's basketball team.

Moeller will be pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in sport management, while Thorp will pursue an MBA in business analytics. They are also members of College Sports Communicators (CSC).
