GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team shut out Thiel College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Tomcat Tennis Courts.
BW (1-1) won three doubles matches and six singles matches over Thiel (0-3).
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 6-1
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at second doubles by a score of 6-0
- Junior Academic All-OAC Saraphina Groh (Cuyahoga Falls) and sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) won at third doubles by a score of 6-0
Singles
- Andersen won at first singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Koutouras won at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-90
- Groh won at third singles by scores 6-1 and 6-2
- Brown won at fourth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
- Thielen won at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Slutz won at sixth singles by identical scores of 6-0
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 27 when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania for a non-conference match against Penn State Behrend University on the Behrend Tennis Courts at 2 p.m.
