BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team, coached by
Kate Latkovic, ended their three-match weekend at the Bengal Challenge hosted by Buffalo State University (N.Y.).
Baldwin Wallace (5-8) opened the weekend on Friday as they took the opening match against the hosts, the Buffalo State Bengals, 3-1. Although they dropped the first set in a 26-28 fight, they took the next three sets 25-18, 25-21, and 25-22. Saturday began with a back-and-forth match against Penn State Behrend (Pa.) that resulted in a 2-3 loss (25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 17-25, 11-15). The Yellow Jackets were outmatched against St. John Fisher (N.Y.) as they dropped their last contest in straight sets (19-25, 15-25, 19-25).
Senior setter
Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) was named to the 2025 Buffalo State Bengal Challenge All-Tournament team for her performance throughout the weekend.
vs. Buffalo State (N.Y.) (6-7)
- Senior outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill. / North) earned a career match best 19 kills while boasting a .500 hitting percentage and getting 10 digs.
- Blazetic contributed 44 assists while also sharing the team lead in blocks with three.
- Senior libero Paige Contris (Pemberville / Eastwood) led the team with four service aces while also getting the most digs with 14.
vs. Penn State Behrend (Pa.) (11-3)
- First-year middle hitter Grace Keane (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) led the team in kills with 14 while putting up a .345 hitting percentage.
- Blazetic supported the team with 48 assists, two blocks, and two aces.
- Contris led the team for a second consecutive match with 20 digs.
vs. St. John Fisher (N.Y.) (11-1)
- Blazetic completed a double-double with 14 assists and 11 digs for the Jackets.
- Schlecht led the team in kills for the second time this weekend with seven.
