BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team hosted The College of Wooster in a non-conference matchup in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Recreation Center. The Jackets swept the Fighting Scots in three straight sets.
The Yellow Jackets, coached by
Kate Latkovic, started with a convincing 25-11 victory in the first set. They repeated their magic in set two by winning 25-11 once again. The third set was a bigger fight, yet the Jackets erased a six-point deficit late in the last set. Supported by senior setter
Katarina Blazetic's (DeLand, Fla. / DeLand) serving skills, and her two service aces, the Jackets scored eight points straight to earn the 25-22 victory.
BW Leaders
- Blazetic gave out 26 assists, with five aces, nine digs, and two kills. She is now eighth all-time in assists in BW program history with 1,845 career assists.
- Junior outside hitter Lexi Smith (Tiffin / Columbian) had a team-high 14 kills, and three digs
- First-year middle hitter Grace Keane (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) and senior outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill. / North) each contributed six kills
- Senior libero Paige Contris (Pemberville / Eastwood) led the team with 16 digs, four assists, and two aces
Wooster Leaders
- Kennedy Muhlenkamp had 14 assists and 10 digs
- Izzy Cozzie contributed seven kills and 14 digs
- Jordan Laraway had five kills
