Men's Soccer Drops Contest to Oberlin in Final Minutes

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell on the road against Oberlin College on Fred Shults Field by a score of 1-0, dropping their fourth consecutive contest.

BW Leaders (3-6-1)

  • Sophomore Robbie Rochford (Fairlawn/Copley) led all BW players by taking three total shots

  • Freshman Gavin Nixon (Irvine, Calif/Orange Lutheran) took two shots on goal to lead the Brown and Gold in the respective category

  • Junior Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) had five saves at net, marking the fourth consecutive game he has had at least five saves

  • The Yellow Jackets took 14 shots in contrast to the Yeomen's 11

  • BW also led the way in the corner kicks battle, 7-3

Oberlin Leaders (2-6-1)

  • Junior Michael Dolton scored the only goal of the game to lead Oberlin with time running out to give them the victory; it was his first goal of the season

  • Junior Enrique Porras Jr. came in on the assist to Dolton's goal

  • Sophomore Suryansh Yadav led Oberlin by tallying three shots on goal

  • Junior Goalkeeper Vince Fortuna saved all three shots BW took

First Half (Tied 0-0)

  • The game was scoreless after 45 minutes of play; the Brown and Gold won the battles of fouls, corner kicks, saves and shots in the first half

Second Half (Oberlin 1-0)

  • 88:33 - A goal scored by Dorton with under 90 seconds to play was the game changer; assisted by Porras, it becomes Oberlin's second win of 2025
