ERIE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to Penn State Behrend College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Behrend Tennis Courts.
BW (1-2) won one doubles match. Penn State Behrend (6-0) won two doubles matches and six singles matches.
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) fell at first doubles by a score of 6-4
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-4
- Sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) and freshman Maddie Smith (Massillon/Perry) won at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
- Andersen fell at first singles by scores of 6-2 and 7-6 (7-5)
- Koutouras fell at second singles by identical scores of 6-2
- Brown fell at third singles by scores of 2-6, 7-5 and 1-0 (10-7)
- Thielen fell at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Slutz fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
- Smith fell at sixth singles by scores of 4-6, 6-3 and 1-0 (10-8)
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 4 when they host the first of three home fall non-conference matches against NCAA Division II Ursuline College on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
