Tied No More! Football Takes All-Time Series Lead with Season-Opening Win Over Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team opened its 2025 season in commanding fashion, defeating longtime rival Wittenberg University 31–13 on Edwards-Maurer Field.

With the win, BW breaks the all-time series tie and now leads 22–21–1.

Yellow Jackets Leaders
  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) completed 17-of-25 passes for 200 yards with one touchdown and one interception
  • Junior Academic All-OAC running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) rushed for a game-high 87 yards on 22 carries with a long of 34
  • Senior wide out Connor Award (North Ridgeville/Midview) caught five passes for a game-best 70 yards with one touchdown
  • Junior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nolan Hartsel (Lodi/Northwestern) made 10 tackles

  • Sophomore quarterback JJ Miller completed 17-of-29 passes for 147 yards with two touchdowns and one interception
  • Miller rushed for 34 yards on 14 carries with a long of 17
