BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to Geneva College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Blackhawk and Brady's Run Tennis Courts.
BW (0-1) won one doubles matches. Geneva (2-0) claimed two doubles wins and six singles victories.
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) fell at first doubles by a score of 6-1
- Senior Gillian Brown and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-4
- Junior Academic All-OAC Saraphina Groh (Cuyahoga Falls) and sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) won at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
- Andersen fell at first singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
- Koutouras fell at second singles by scores of 5-7, 7-5 and 6-0
- Brown fell at third singles by scores of 6-2, 3-6 and 7-5
- Thielen fell at fourth singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2
- Slutz fell at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-2
- Freshman Julia Fitterer (Newark) fell at sixth singles by identical scores of 6-0
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 13 when they travel to Greenville, Pa. for a non-conference match against Thiel College on the Tomcat Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
