BEREA, Ohio - The No. 15 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace women's basketball team defeated the Heidelberg University Student Princes by a score of 92-38 to remain perfect in conference play.
BW (13-2, 6-0 OAC) extended their win streak to 10 games with a dominant win over the Student Princes. The BW offense had 15 different scorers while the defense locked down the Heidelberg offense.
BW Leaders (13-2, 6-0 OAC)
- Junior guard Taylor Bass (Strongsville) led the Yellow Jackets with a career-best 15 points by going 5-7 from the field, 3-4 from deep, and 2-2 from the line
- Four Yellow Jackets collected five rebounds each to tie the team lead: Maddy Stumpf (Johnstown/Big Walnut), Kayla Jones (Grove City), Brooke Thompson (Maineville/Little Miami), and Alyssa Miller (New Philadelphia)
- Miller led the squad with three blocks
- Second-year guard Elise Champagne (Columbia Station/Columbia) had a career-high four steals
Heidelberg Leaders (1-13, 0-5 OAC)
- Tori See led the Student Princes with 21 points
- Mya Jones and See had a team-leading seven rebounds
- Hannah Hunt and Abby Tier gave out a team-high two assists
1st Quarter (19-9 BW)
- The BW defense held the Student Princes to single digits
- Junior guard Ava Wilkerson (West Mansfield/Marysville) scored a three off of a Jones steal to start the matchup
2nd Quarter (42-20 BW)
- Bass sank a three-point basket off of an assist from Leah Riley (Cincinnati/Sycamore)
- The Yellow Jackets were 10-19 from the field in the quarter
3rd Quarter (71-33 BW)
- A Riley three-point basket extended the Yellow Jacket lead to 32
- BW shot 66.7% from the field by going 12-18
4th Quarter (92-38 BW)
- Bass scored a team-leading five points
- First-year Sarah Scott (Monaca, Pa./Lincoln Park) hit a three to collect her first career field goal
