BEREA, Ohio - The No. 15 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace women's basketball team defeated the Heidelberg University Student Princes by a score of 92-38 to remain perfect in conference play.
BW (12-2, 5-0 OAC) extended their win streak to ten games with a dominant win over the Student Princes. The BW offense had 15 different contributors while the defense locked down the Heidelberg offense.
BW Leaders (13-2, 6-0 OAC)
- Junior guard Ava Wilkerson (West Mansfield/Marysville) led the Yellow Jackets tallying 14 points, with shooting 100% in field goals, three-point shots, and free throws
- Senior guard Leah Riley (Cincinnati/Sycamore) and sophomore forward Maddy Stumpf (Johnstown/Big Walnut) each collected a team-high three rebounds
- Senior guard Ali Menendez (Hudson) gave out a career-high four assists
- Riley and Junior guard Taylor Bass (Strongsville) each added 12 points
Heidelberg Leaders (1-12, 0-5 OAC)
- Tori Sees led the Student Princes with 24 points
- Mya Jones had a team-leading five rebounds
- Malia Mizeres gave out a team-high two assists
1st Quarter (19-9 BW)
- The BW defense held the Student Princes to single digits
- Junior guard Laura McCoy (Newton Falls/Garrettsville Garfield) scored a three off of a Jones steal to start the matchup
- BW went 2-2 on three-point shots
2nd Quarter (42-20 BW)
- Bass sank a three-point basket off of an assist from Riley
- The Yellow Jackets shot 71% from the field during the quarter
3rd Quarter (71-33 BW)
- A Riley three-point basket extended the Yellow Jacket lead to 30
- BW went 3-4 from the free throw line
4th Quarter (92-38 BW)
- First-year guard Claire Bartlome (Vermilion) scored a team-leading four points
- First-year Izzy Kurka (Medina) tied a career-best three rebounds
