BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team defeated cross-town rival John Carroll University by a score of 15-6 on the turf of the George Finnie Stadium to improve to 2-0.
BW (2-0) was led by junior attack/midfielder
Noah Dodgion (Hilliard/Davidson), who scored six goals and had an assist to go with his performance. Sophomore goalie
Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) made 10 saves in his second start of his career.
The 15 goals become the most the team has scored this season. They scored 15 or more goals 12 times last season.
1st Quarter (3-3)
- Junior attack/midfielder Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif. / St. John Bosco) led the way for the Brown and Gold with two goals in 16 seconds to take a 2-1 lead at the time
- BW had two assists, with junior face-off specialist Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and senior attack/midfielder Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) each having one
- The Yellow Jackets took eight shots in the opening quarter
2nd Quarter (BW 6-4)
- The Brown and Gold were led in the second quarter by senior All-OAC attack/midfielder Nate Hoover (Worthington) who contributed for a goal and an assist to put BW up by two goals at the break
- Sophomore goalie Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) only allowed one goal in the second quarter to help stop the Blue Streaks' offense from heating up
- All goals in the second were assisted by three BW players
3rd Quarter (BW 8-4)
- Dodgion led BW in the third quarter by scoring both of their goals
- The Brown and Gold took five shots in the third quarter
- The Yellow Jackets were a perfect four-for-four on faceoffs won
4th Quarter (BW 15-6)
- BW nearly doubled their scoring total in the final quarter of play, scoring seven in total
- Dodgion scored two goals and had one assist to add on to his impressive day
- Allison scored the first goal of the period and his third of the day just under a minute into the quarter
- Allison also had two assists in the quarter
- The Yellow Jackets had 12 shots on goal in contrast to John Carroll's five
