HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team won its fifth straight match as it defeated Lancaster Bible (Pa.) College in a non-conference match by a final score of 6-1 on the Cordillo Courts.
BW (6-2) won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. Lancaster Bible (0-3) took one singles match.
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 6-1
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at second doubles by a score of 6-2
- Sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) and sophomore Sarah Sayyed (Westlake) won at third doubles by a score of 6-2
Singles
- Andersen won at first singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Koutouras won at second singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-1
- Brown won at third singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-2
- Thielen won at fourth singles by scores of 6-1 and 7-5
- Slutz won at fifth singles by scores of 5-7, 6-1 and 1-0 (16-14)
- Sayyed loss at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
The Yellow Jackets close out their trip to Hilton Head on Friday, March 13 when they play a non-conference match against Western New England University at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
