HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team shutout Western New England (Mass.) University in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Cordillo Courts.
BW (7-2), who won all three matches on its spring break trip and has now six straight victories, won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches over Western New England (3-12).
Doubles
- Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and junior Academic All-OAC Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 6-3
- Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at second doubles by a score of 6-3
- Sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) and sophomore Sarah Sayyed (Westlake) won at third doubles by forfeit
Singles
- Andersen won at first singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Koutouras won at second identical singles by scores of 6-0
- Brown won at third singles by scores of 7-6 (7-3) and 6-4
- Thielen won at fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
- Slutz won at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-4
- Sayyed won at sixth singles by scores of forfeit
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 28 when they host a women's and men's non-conference doubleheader against Westminster (Pa.) College on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 9 a.m.
