Men's Lacrosse Crushes Marietta in First Conference Game

MARIETTA, Ohio
- The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team defeated Marietta College by a score of 23-6 in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Marietta Field.

BW (6-3, 1-0 OAC) was led by junior attack/midfielder Noah Dodgion (Hilliard/Davidson), who scored six goals for the Yellow Jackets. Academic All-OAC midfielder Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North) and junior attack/midfielder Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif. / St. John Bosco) both tallied four goals each, with Allison also having six assists for BW. In goal for BW, junior AJ Schultz (Mukwonago, Wis.) and freshman Jackson Viverito (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) both had three saves, and sophomore Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) had one save against the Pioneers.

Marietta (4-4, 0-1 OAC) was led by Tommy Imhof and Sam Leininger, who both had two goals.
 
1st Quarter (BW 5-1)
  • Allison scored BW's first goal, assisted by senior attack/midfield Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley)
  • BW scored five goals
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle by a margin of 7-0
  • BW had 17 shots with seven on goal

2nd Quarter (BW 15-1)
  • BW scored 10 goals
  • The Yellow Jackets had 18 shots with 14 on goal
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Malone had one save, allowing zero goals for the Pioneers in the quarter

3rd Quarter (MC 17-4)
  • The Yellow Jackets earned eight ground balls
  • BW scored two goals
  • BW had nine shots with six on goal

4th Quarter (BW 23-6)
  • The Yellow Jackets outscored the Pioneers 6-2
  • BW out-shot Marietta 11-6
  • Dodgion scored back-to-back goals in the twelfth minute
