Grizovic Leads Men’s Lacrosse in Career Day Over Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio -
The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team defeated Wilmington College by a score of 29-4 in its Ohio Athletic Conference matchup inside Williams Stadium.  

BW (8-3, 3-0 OAC) was led in goals by junior Academic All-OAC attack/midfield Carson Grizovic (Walton, Ky./Walton-Verona), who scored a career-high six goals for the Yellow Jackets. Sophomore attack/midfield Eli Armstrong (Holland, Mich. / West Ottawa) and junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack/midfielder Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif. / St. John Bosco) both tallied three goals each. In goal for BW, junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference goalkeeper AJ Schultz (Mukwonago, Wis.) had two saves, and sophomore goalkeeper Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) had one save, both allowing zero goals.  

Wilmington (4-6) was led by Garrett Reigelsperger, who had three goals.  

1st Quarter (BW 16-0) 
  • Allison scored BW's first goal, assisted by All-Ohio Athletic Conference senior attack/midfield Ian Shealy (Westerville / Central) 
  • BW scored 16 goals 
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle by a margin of 15-2 
  • BW had 23 shots with 17 on goal  
  • Malone had one save and allowed zero goals 

2nd Quarter (BW 20-3) 
  • BW scored four goals  
  • The Yellow Jackets had 13 shots with 10 on goal 
  • BW earned 11 ground balls 
  • Freshman midfielder Sean Brennan (Gibsonia, Pa. / Mars Area) scored his first career goal, and the Yellow Jackets' 18th goal of the game  
  • Freshman goalkeeper Jackson Viverito (Boulder, Colo. / Fairview) had two saves and 3 goals against 

3rd Quarter (BW 26-3) 
  • The Yellow Jackets earned 12 ground balls 
  • BW scored six goals  
  • BW had 13 shots with nine on goal 
  • Schultz had two saves and allowed zero goals  

4th Quarter (BW 29-4) 
  • BW outscored the Quakers 3-1 
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle 3-1 
  • Freshman goalkeeper Logan Corley (Canby, Ore.) had two saves and allowed one goal
