Baseball's Ritlinger-Nirider Named OAC Hitter of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University slugging outfielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the second time in his career.

Ritlinger-Nirider had an impact in all four of the Yellow Jackets' games for the week, all of which were wins as the team has now won seven games in a row. He was 2-for-3 in the win over John Carroll with a grand slam and six RBI on March 24. His six runs batted in are tied for the most he's had in a game for his career, also doing so at Capital on April 26, 2025. 

On March 25 against Ohio Wesleyan and March 28 against Capital, he had four hits in each of those games, going 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and two runs scored. He was a home run away from the cycle. On March 28 against Capital, he was 4-for-6 with a go-ahead three-run home run, five RBI, and three runs scored. He also had an RBI single in the first game of the doubleheader against Capital. 

For the season, Ritlinger-Nirider has a slash line of .423/.511/.718. He has three home runs, 29 RBI, eight doubles, two triples, and 11 walks. For his career with the Brown and Gold, the outfielder has appeared in 126 games and made starts in 101 of these instances. He holds a career .349 batting average with 14 home runs, 91 RBI, 50 walks, 35 doubles, five triples, 128 hits while scoring 26 runs.

BW is back on the field tomorrow, March 31, where they will travel to NCAA Division I Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
