Seven Men’s Wrestling Student-Athletes Qualify for NCAA Division III Championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Seven Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling student-athletes have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by the American Rivers Conference at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena on March 13 and 14.

BW will be represented by sophomore 133-pounder Chase Creque (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Sigel), sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference 141-pounder Antonio Shelley (Mentor), junior All-American 165-pounder Andrew Supers (Medina), senior All-OAC 174-pounder Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward), senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 184-pounder Remington Bauer (Norwalk/Edison), senior All-American and Academic All-American 197-pounder Joey Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) and sophomore All-OAC 285-pounder Andy Vanscoy (Cuyahoga Falls/St. Vincent-St. Mary).

Creque punched his ticket after earning All-Region 4 honors with a third place finish.  In his first season, he has compiled a record of 21-6 with seven major decisions, two pins and two technical falls.

Shelley makes his first appearance after earning All-Region 4 honors with a third place finish.  This season, he has posted a career-best 26 victories and a record of 26-7.  Shelley leads the team with a career-high 14 pins.  Shelley has added four technical falls and a career-best tying two major decisions.  He was an All-OAC second team honoree. For his career, Shelley has a record of 49-17 with 16 technical falls, 15 pins and four major decisions.  Off the mat, he is a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.

Supers punched his third ticket after winning the Region 4 championship and earning All-Region 4 honors.  This season, he leads the team with 36 victories and a record of 36-2. Supers leads the team with 11 technical falls and a career-best tying nine major decisions. He is second on the team with a career-high 13 pins. Supers was an All-OAC first team selection, two-time Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week Award recipient and a two-time invitational champion. For his career, Supers ranks tied for on the school's all-time wins list with a record of 111-16.  He has recorded 31 pins, 30 technical falls and 20 major decisions.  Supers is a six-time invitational champion, four-time OAC Wrestler of the Week Award winner, three-time All-OAC first team selection, three-time All-Region performer, three-time NCAA Division III national qualifier and a 2025 All-American. Off the mat, he is a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.

West makes his third career trip after winning the Region 4 championship and earning All-Region 4 honors.  This season, he was second on the team with 32 victories and a record of 32-3.  West was third on the team with a career-high tying 12 pins.  He recorded six technical falls and four major decisions.   West was an All-OAC first team selection, three-time invitational champion and the OAC Wrestler of the Week on December 15.  For his career, West ranks tied for 10th on the school's all-time wins list with a record of 115-34.  He has tallied 42 pins, 20 technical falls and 15 major decisions. West is a five-time invitational champion, three-time All-OAC first team selection, three-time All-Region performer, three-time NCAA Division III national qualifier and an OAC Wrestler of the Week Award winner. Off the mat, he is a two-tome National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.

Bauer punched his second straight ticket after earning All-Region 4 honors with a second place finish. This year, he is third on the team with 30 victories and a record of 30-10.  Bauer has recorded a career-best seven pins, six technical falls and two major decisions. He was an All-OAC second team selection. For his career, Bauer ranks tied for on the school's all-time wins list with a record of 111-48.  He has tallied 18 technical falls, 18 major decisions and 15 pins.  Bauer is a two-time All-OAC selection, two-time All-Region performer, two-time NCAA Division III national qualifier and an invitational champion.  Off the mat, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller Honor Societies.

Petrella is making his second straight trip after earning All-Region 4 honors with a third place finish. This season, he has a record of 21-2.  Petrella tied for fifth on the team with 10 pins.  He recorded six technical falls and a career-best tying two major decisions.  Petrella was an All-OAC second team selection and a two-time All-OAC Wrestler of the Week Award recipient. For his career, Petrella has an overall mark of 64-10 with 22 pins, 21 technical falls and four major decisions. He is a two-time OAC Wrestler of the Week Award winner, two-time All-Region performer, two-time national qualifier and two-time invitational champion. Off the mat, Petrella is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-American, 2025 CSC Academic All-District selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Vanscoy punched his first ticket after earning All-Region 4 honors with a second place finish. This year, he was fourth on the team with a career-best 29 victories and a record of 29-6.  Vanscoy was tied for fifth on team with a career-high 10 pins.  He recorded a career-best five major decisions and a career-high tying two technical falls. Vanscoy was an All-OAC first team selection. For his career, Vanscoy has compiled a record of 42-15 with 14 pins, five major decisions and three technical falls.  He is a two-time invitational champion.  Off the mat, Vanscoy is a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.

BW finished the 2025-26 regular season with an overall record of 12-6 and an undefeated mark of 6-0 in the OAC.   The Yellow Jackets won their sixth straight OAC Championship and have now won 45 straight OAC matches.
