Men’s Lacrosse Impresses with Seniors Day Victory Over Otterbein

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team defeated Otterbein University by a score of 28-6 in its seniors day matchup inside Finnie Stadium.

BW (11-3, 6-0 OAC) was led in goals by senior Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North), who scored six goals for the Yellow Jackets. BW was also led by junior All-OAC attack/midfielder Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco), who scored four goals. Junior attack/midfielder Noah Dodgion (Hilliard/Davidson) along with senior attack/midfielder Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) both tallied three goals each. In goal for BW, sophomore goalkeeper Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) had six saves, and freshman goalkeeper Jackson Viverito (Boulder, Colo. / Fairview) had one save for the Yellow Jackets.

Otterbein (5-7, 2-3 OAC) was led by Max Luther, who scored two goals and assisted on two more points. 

1st Quarter (BW 6-1) 

  • Junior face-off specialist Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) won the faceoff to start the game for the Yellow Jackets 
  • Allison scored BW's first goal of the day, unassisted 
  • BW scored six goals 
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle by a margin of 7-1 
  • BW had 19 shots with 12 on goal  
  • The Yellow Jackets earned 17 ground balls 
  • Malone had one save for the Yellow Jackets  


2nd Quarter (BW 12-2) 

  • BW scored six goals 
  • The Yellow Jackets had 24 shots with 13 on goal
  • BW earned nine ground balls 
  • All-Ohio Athletic Conference senior attack/midfield Ian Shealy (Westerville / Central) scored back-to-back goals for the Yellow Jackets in the second quarter 
  • The Yellow Jackets earned 11 ground balls 

3rd Quarter (BW 21-2) 
  • The Yellow Jackets earned 14 ground balls 
  • BW scored nine goals  
  • The Yellow Jackets swept the faceoff battle in the third quarter, 10-0 
  • BW had 21 shots with 13 on goal 


4th Quarter (BW 28-6) 

  • BW outscored the Cardinals 7-4 
  • Freshman midfielder Eli Block (Bethlehem, Pa. / Northampton Area) scored his first career goal, and the 22nd goal of the game for the Yellow Jackets 
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle 8-4
