Women’s Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match to Washington and Jefferson (Pa.)

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to Washington and Jefferson College in a non-conference match by a final score of 5-2 inside the Swanson Tennis Center.

Washington and Jefferson (14-6) won all three doubles matches and all four of six singles matches against BW (8-4).

Doubles
  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and sophomore Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) fell at first doubles by a score of 6-4
  • Senior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and junior Academic All-OAC Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-2
  • Yellow Jackets forfeit third doubles
Singles
  • Andersen won at first singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-2
  • Brown won at second singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-3
  • Thielen fell at third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Slutz fell at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-0
  • Sayyed fell at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-2
  • BW forfeits sixth singles
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 18 when they travel to Alliance for an OAC match against the University of Mount Union on the Whitehill Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
