WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior slugging outfielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the third time in his career.
The senior was 14-for-20 on the week with five home runs and 15 RBI. He hit his second-career three-homer game in the second game of the doubleheader against Mount Union on April 8. Another distinct performance on the week for Ritlinger-Nirider is when he went 5-for-6 with a home run and six RBI in a 13-1 win over Muskingum.
In the other three games of week, he had at least one hit in all of them, going 2-for-3 against Hiram with a home run on April 6, 1-for-2 on April 8 in the first game against Mount Union, before finally going 2-for-4 in the second game against Muskingum with a double. Ritlinger-Nirider now has a six-game hitting streak which is his second longest of the season.
For the season, Ritlinger-Nirider has a .457/.546/.821 slash line with eight home runs, 45 RBI, eight doubles, two triples, 17 walks and 39 runs scored. In his career with BW, he has appeared in 134 games and has started in 109 of these games. He has 19 home runs, 107 RBI, 41 doubles, five triples, 56 walks and 108 runs scored.
