SALISBURY, Md. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team lost against No. 7 Salisbury (Md.) University by a score of 11-22 inside Sea Gull Stadium to drop down to 13-4.
BW was led by junior OAC Offensive Player of the Week
Noah Dodgion (Hilliard/Davidson) with four goals, 15 shots, and six on goal along with senior attack/midfield
Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North) who had three goals and two assists.
Dodgion and
Trout were the top producers, combining for seven goals and two assists.
The Salisbury Sea Gulls were led by Riley Strub with three goals and one assist. Connor Herraiz led the team in points with six off of two goals and four assists.
1st Quarter (SU 7-0)
- Salisbury scored its first goal with 11:47 remaining in the first period and scored two more in the subsequent 1:25.
- Salisbury won six faceoffs to BW's two
- BW and Salisbury each collected 13 ground balls
2nd Quarter (SU 13-1)
- BW had seven turnovers and 11 shots with only four on goal.
- Junior midfield Caleb Fox (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) broke the Sea Gulls' 10-0 start to the game at the 10:21 mark.
- First-Team All-OAC junior faceoff specialist Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township Pa./Seneca Valley) won the faceoff battle 5-3, but Salisbury continued to convert after these wins.
3rd Quarter (SU 19-7)
- Baldwin Wallace scored six goals to match Salisbury's six in the period.
- The Yellow Jackets took 14 total shots with eight on goal, while Salisbury recorded 17 shots and 11 on frame.
- BW picked up five ground balls and won six faceoffs, while Salisbury collected 14 ground balls and won seven draws.
4th Quarter (SU 22-11)
- Baldwin Wallace outscored Salisbury 4–3 in the quarter, finishing with the stronger offensive push.
- 13 total BW shots produced eight on goal, while Salisbury managed nine shots with four on frame.
- BW collected six ground balls while Salisbury picked up ten, but the Sea Gulls turned the ball over eight times.
