Alic Sets Women’s Lacrosse All-Time Scoring Record in Victory Over Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team beat Ohio Northern University by a score of 15-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference action to end the regular season.
 
It was a dominant display from the Yellow Jackets who scored 12 unanswered goals after conceding the first goal of the game. BW now carries a six-game winning streak into OAC Tournament play, outscoring opponents 100-29 during that stretch. The Yellow Jacket Women's Athlete of the Month for March, Clare Alic (Carmel, Ind./Guerin Catholic), scored three goals to reach 160 career goals, the most scored in program history. She reached the milestone 30 seconds into the fourth quarter.
 
BW Leaders (11-3, 5-1)
  • Junior midfield Annette Doren (Lakewood) led BW with four goals and added an assist and three ground balls
  • Alic scored three goals and notched a team-leading seven draw controls
  • Junior attack Emma Northrup (Hudson) tallied three goals, two assists, and five ground balls
  • Freshman goalie Aubrey Berner (Columbus/Dublin Coffman) led the Yellow Jackets in the net with four saves
 
Ohio Northern Leaders (9-8, 3-3)
  • Freshman attack Amber Regan, freshman midfield Gabby Juergens, and sophomore defender Jaxsyn Murdock each tallied a goal for the Polar Bears
  • Sophomore goalie Kara Fox collected seven saves on the night for ONU
 
First Period (BW 5-1)
  • ONU's Juergens opened the scoring for the game
  • It took just 3:49 for BW to score all five of their goals in the period after tying the game at one with 7:14 left in the period
  • Doren led BW with two goals in the period
 
Second Period (BW 10-1)
  • Northup had two goals and an assist in the period
  • Senior attack Carley House (Hilliard/Darby) House also had a multi-goal period with two goals
  • BW outshot ONU 11-1
 
Third Period (BW 13-2)
  • Sophomore midfield Ella Szalay (Struthers/Cardinal Mooney) opened the scoring in the second half with her 22nd goal of the season
  • Doren scored her season-high fourth goal of the game in the period
 
Fourth Period (BW 15-3)
  • Alic scored her 50th goal of the season to set a new program scoring record
  • Junior attack Madie Tomei (Hudson/Walsh Jesuit) added the final BW goal of the game
