Buffalo, N.Y. – The No. 10 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team defeated NCAA Division I Canisius University by a final score of 10-2 inside the Demske Sports Complex
to improve to 28-8 on the season behind 11 hits by the BW batters.
Scoring Summary
- Top 3rd – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City/Grove City) drove a ball to center field to tie the game at 1–1
- Top 4th – Junior catcher Mason Fixx (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) singled through the right side, driving in Petrecca and Gordon to give the Yellow Jackets a 3–1 lead
- Top 4th - Junior second baseman Jace Druschel (Tampa, Fla./George Steinbrenner) scored on a wild pitch, extending the Yellow Jackets' lead to 4–1
- Top 4th – Ritlinger-Nirider launched another ball, this time to right-center field for a three-run home run to extend the lead to 7-1
- Top 6th - Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City/Grove City) doubled to left field, driving in Fleming to extend the lead to 8–2
- Top 9th - Druschel reached first on a fielding error by Canisius' first baseman, allowing Escano to score and increase the lead to 9–2
- Top 9th - Senior pinch hitter Nolan Kellicker (Dover/Dover) singled to center field, driving in Druschel and extending the lead to 10–2

- Ritlinger-Nirider went 3-for-5 with two home runs and a double, drove in five runs, and scored twice
- Fixx went 1-for-4 with two RBIs, scored once, and stole a base
