Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Ohio Northern in OAC Championship Game to Conclude 2026 Campaign

BEREA, Ohio - The top-seeded Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team, led by Head Coach Tony Tatro, was defeated by the second-seeded Ohio Northern University Polar Bears by a score of 7-15 in the Ohio Athletic Conference championship game at home on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.  
 
BW (14-5, 8-0 OAC) was led in goals by All-Ohio Athletic Conference junior attack/midfielder Noah Dodgion (Hilliard/Davidson), who scored three goals for the Yellow Jackets. BW was also led by senior All-OAC attack/midfield Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), who scored two goals. Junior All-OAC attack/midfield Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco), had one goal and three assists for the brown and gold, and senior All-OAC attack/midfielder Jake Koonmen (Fairport, N.Y.) had one goal. In goal for BW, junior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper AJ Schultz (Mukwonago, Wis.) had three saves, and sophomore goalkeeper Aidan Malone (Canal Winchester) had 11 saves.  

ONU (14-6, 7-1 OAC) was led by Cooper Mulligan and Jack Chaney, who both scored three goals.   

2026 OAC All-Tournament Team Honorees
  • From BW: Dodgion, junior All-OAC face-off specialist Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), and Allison
  • From ONU: Rudy DeFilippis, Ryan Frech, Peyton Lich, and the MVP from ONU, Jack Chaney.
 
1st Quarter (BW 4-2) 
  • Ohio Northern started the day off with the first goal, but the Yellow Jackets soon responded with a goal by Allison. 
  • BW scored four goals. 
  • Dodgion scored two back-to-back goals to set the Yellow Jackets in the lead for the first quarter. 
  • The Yellow Jackets won the faceoff battle by a margin of 5-2. 
  • BW had 14 shots with 10 on goal. 
  • The Yellow Jackets earned 13 ground balls. 
 
2nd Quarter (ONU 6-5) 
  • After three goals from the Polar Bears, the Yellow Jackets answered with 40 seconds left in the quarter, with a goal from Dodgion, his 66th of the season.  
  • The Yellow Jackets had seven shots with one on goal. 
  • BW earned four ground balls. 
 
3rd Quarter (ONU 11-6) 
  • The Yellow Jackets earned four ground balls. 
  • BW scored one goal – Geiselhart assisted by senior OAC Offensive Player of the Year Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North). 
  • BW had 10 shots with 2 on goal. 
 
4th Quarter (ONU 15-7) 
  • The Yellow Jackets scored one goal, by Koonmen.
  • BW had nine shots with four on goal.   
  • Ohio Northern had two faceoff wins compared to BW's four.  
 
Men's lacrosse finished the 2026 season with a record of 14-6 overall and 8-0 in OAC play to be named the OAC Regular Season Champions.
