Five Baseball Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five Baldwin Wallace University baseball student-athletes have been selected to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or having started in at least 66 percent of the school's games. While pitchers must make 17 appearances, or pitch 25 innings.

Senior left-handed ace Brit Kostura (Tequesta, Fla./Jupiter Christian School), senior right-hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley), Senior right fielder John Panstares (Westlake/St. Ignatius), Senior shortstop Matt Terzola (Uniontown/Archbishop Hoban) and Junior second-basemen Carson Petrecca (Willowick/Eastlake North)  all earned all-district honors and now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on July 1.

Kostura, who earns his second career district honor, holds a 3.97 grade point average in a stability and finance double major. Kostura finished the season with a 12-3 win-loss record and a 2.08 ERA, with his win total leading the Ohio Athletic Conference. Kostura pitched in a total of 18 games with 15 of them as the starter. He led the team with 79 strikeouts and was also third in the OAC in this category. He threw an OAC-leading 108.1 innings throughout the season; four of these starts took place in the postseason. Kostura was a first team All-OAC member for the second consecutive year as well as a member of the All-OAC Tournament team. He finished his career with 40 appearances with 25 of them being starts. He has a 15-4 win-loss record, a 2.39 ERA, 148 strikeouts in 192.1 innings of work. He is a two-time All-OAC team selection. Off the field, Kostura is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honorary.

Panstares, who earns his first career district honor, holds a 3.81 grade point average while majoring in business administration. This year, Panstares played 45 games and made starts in 36 of them. He had a batting average of .269 with one home run and 16 RBI. He also scored 31 runs, tallied 47 total bases and drew 16 walks. For his career at BW, Panstares has a .277 batting average with two home runs, 24 RBI, 35 runs scored, 41 hits, seven doubles, one triple, and 17 walks in 69 games played. Off the field, Panstares is a Dean's list student, an Academic All-OAC Selection and a Jacket Scholar.

Terzola, who earns his first career district honor, holds a 3.75 grade point average while majoring in accounting. This year, Terzola played in all 49 games and started 48 of them. He had a batting average of .273 with 26 RBI. He also scored 44 runs, tallied 46 total bases, had five doubles and drew 26 walks. For his career, Terzola played 179 games and made starts in 151 of them. He had a .268 batting average, drove in 79 RBI, scored 120 runs, had 132 hits, had 17 doubles, and drew 62 walks. Off the field, Terzola is a three-time Academic All-OAC team honoree, a Dean's list student and a Jacket Scholar.

Walker, who earns his second-career district honor, holds a 3.62 grade point average as a data analytics and finance double major. This year, Walker appeared in 19 games and made six starts. He had a 6.17 ERA while striking out 63 batters in 65.2 innings of work. He allowed 45 runs and issued 30 walks. For his career, Walker made 63 appearances, started 26 of them and threw one complete game in 2024. He had a 17-5 win-loss record, 63 strikeouts, and a 5.07 earned run average. He additionally struck out 181 batters in 202.1 innings of work. Walker is an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region 7 team selection, D3baseball.com All-Region 7 selection and an All-OAC team selectee. Off the field, he is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's list student and Jacket Scholar.

Petrecca is the only non-senior who receives a district honor; his first career distinction, he possesses a 3.86 grade point average as an exercise science major. This year, Petrecca played 83 games and made 59 starts. He had a .308 batting average with eight home runs and 47 RBI including four home runs in the postseason. He also scored 35 runs, had 12 doubles, two triples and drew 19 walks. For his career, Petrecca has a .285 batting average, 11 home runs, 57 RBI, 46 runs scored, 17 doubles, two triples, and 25 walks. He is a two-time All-OAC team selectee.
