BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team won every match they hosted at the 2026 Marcia French Invitational inside Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center. BW defeated the Buffalo State Bengals 3-1 (25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 25-21) and the SUNY Geneseo Knights 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-13) on Friday. Today, BW took down the Geneseo Knights again by a score of 3-1 (19-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-19) to finish the weekend. The last time BW started the season with a winning streak this long was 2019 when they started 13-0.

Set 1 (BW, 25-18): Junior outside hitter
Lyla Nash and junior setter
Anna Stankard drove the BW offense as Nash had six kills and Stankard contributed seven assists. The Yellow Jackets led the whole time and closed the set on a 5-0 scoring run.
Set 2 (BUFF, 25-17): After starting with a 0-3 deficit, BW could never find an offensive rhythm. They only had one lead, and they committed eight errors on nine kills for the set. The set ended with an attack error, and BW conceded set two.
Set 3 (BW, 25-21): The third set appeared much like the second one for BW when they were down 3-9. Then, a 5-0 run led by server

Lexi Smith (who had two kills) brought the Jackets back within one. Smith and Kaylor were the much-needed spark off the bench, and Smith made five kills to put the team in the right direction. The Brown and Gold closed the set on a 4-0 run to regain the match lead.
Set 4 (BW, 25-21): The Brown and Gold were hanging onto a tight 15-13 lead, and Kaylor served through a 7-0 run to give the team a comfortable lead on a Friday night. Kaylor had six assists and shared the wealth with Stankard who also tallied six.
SUNY Geneseo Recap (Fri.)
Set 1 (BW, 26-24): The first set was a battle of the serves. SUNY Geneseo had nine service aces and only committed three service errors. BW had just as many service errors with only two aces. Down the stretch, BW had a 21-24 deficit and needed to get it together. Smith took the next point on a kill assisted by Kaylor, and Stankard led a clutch 4-0 serving run to win the set.
Set 2 (BW, 25-19): Stankard picked up right where she left off with four more unanswered points as the server. This set featured the most productive BW offense of the entire weekend with 14 kills with only three errors for a .478 hitting percentage.

Brenna Leach combined for seven kills, and Stankard traded off with Kaylor to put together 11 assists.
Set 3 (BW, 25-13): A 6-0 scoring run led by Kaylor helped to solidify a dominant set for the Yellow Jackets. BW had a .474 hitting efficiency and newcomer
Brenna Leach led the way with four kills. There were four team blocks to help suffocate the Geneseo Knights' offense, which hit for a meager -.179 hitting efficiency.
SUNY Geneseo Recap (Sat.)
Set 1 (SUNY, 25-19): Leach and freshman outside hitter
Ruby Suter each contributed early kills to keep the score close. However, SUNY Geneseo built momentum leading to an 8-2 run to gain an insurmountable 19-12 lead. The serve receive for BW struggled as they allowed six service aces.
Set 2 (BW, 25-14): Freshman middle hitter
Morgan Petrecca made six blocks during this set. She made two in the previous set. That totals eight by the end of set two. The last time someone made eight blocks in a single match for the Yellow Jackets was in March of 2021 when Kathleen Egan had eight block assists. Two of Petrecca's blocks were solo blocks, and she was part of all six of the BW blocks in set two.
Set 3 (BW, 25-17): Lynn was the server on an early 5-0 run which gave the Yellow Jackets a permanent lead in set three. Suter and Leach had four kills each and Nash contributed three. Stankard conducted an effective BW offense with seven assists.
Set 4 (BW, 25-19): The attacking Jackets kept it going with five kills from Nash and four from Leach. This set featured BW's most efficient offense with a .355 hitting percentage on 13 kills. The Brown and Gold closed the match with a 5-1 run to put a bow on another winning weekend.
