Women’s Volleyball Stays Undefeated After Weekend Sweep at Great Lakes Crossover

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team won all three matches of the 2026 Great Lakes Crossover, hosted by Heidelberg University inside the Seiberling Gymnasium. On Friday, the Yellow Jackets took down Adrian College 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-17). Today, BW conquered Allegheny College 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-20) and Kenyon (25-16, 25-12, 25-14) to complete the weekend sweep. This is the first time the team has started the season 4-0 under third-year Head Coach Kate Latkovic.

Adrian Recap

Set 1 (BW, 25-13): The first set featured offensive dominance from BW to set the tone for the weekend. They mounted a decisive 6-0 scoring run early, led by freshman outside hitter Brenna Leach who had two service aces.

Set 2 (BW, 25-17): After trading points leading up to a 2-2 tie in the second set, the Yellow Jacket offense took rhythm by going on two scoring runs. Leach was again the key contributor to two crucial scoring runs as the server, helping to put the second set out of reach.

Set 3 (BW, 25-17): The final set featured the do-it-all setter, junior Anna Stankard, who took BW on an early 6-0 run to take the score from 4-4 to 10-4. This run included a service ace and an assist. There were four total blocks during this set, and BW often capitalized on Adrian's attack errors by turning them into points. Stankard and sophomore setter Madison Kaylor combined for 26 assists to support the offense throughout the win.

Allegheny Recap

Set 1 (BW, 25-15): Saturday's first match started in a similar way to Friday's match; with Leach establishing the momentum with an early scoring run to take the score from a 5-6 deficit to a 9-6 lead. Junior outside hitter Lyla Nash was a force at the net with five kills to lead BW to the set victory.

Set 2 (BW, 25-14): Nash led a 5-0 scoring run as the server to make the score 6-1. Then, sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Kaylor blew the second set open when she served through an 8-0 scoring run to make the score 14-4. This run also included three service aces from the Galloway native. Following Nash's early run, the Gators never got closer than four points to BW's lead.

Set 3 (BW, 25-20): The Gators showed their resiliency by fighting through six lead changes when there had only been two lead changes throughout the previous two sets. Freshman middle hitter Morgan Petrecca was the offensive centerpiece by contributing six kills. Two of those kills came in the decisive 6-1 scoring run to conclude the final set and secure the match victory.
