CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team, led by Head Coach
Kate Latkovic, beat the Case Western Reserve University Spartans inside Horsburgh Gymnasium by a score of 3-1.

Set 1 (CWRU, 25-22): The Spartans started the match with a five-point lead to stun the undefeated Yellow Jackets. After exchanging points, freshman outside hitter
Brenna Leach led BW on an impressive 7-0 run with two service aces to make the score 11-8 for the Brown and Gold. The 17 kills from the Spartans led them to take set one.
Set 2 (BW, 25-9): Following a 6-6 tie, BW went on an unbelievable 17-1 scoring run to eventually secure the set victory at 25-9. This run was led by junior setter
Anna Stankard and Leach who each recorded a service ace. The Yellow Jackets' defense held the Spartans to only three kills with 11 attack errors for a -.250 hitting percentage.
Set 3 (BW, 25-18): Case Western continued to pile up attack errors with eight in the third set. They hit .025 and had nine kills. Sophomore setter
Madison Kaylor led the Yellow Jackets on a six-point serving run to put BW in the lead for good.
Set 4 (BW, 25-21): BW had their most efficient set offensively with a .300 hitting percentage and 18 kills on six errors. The set was a fight that featured three lead changes, and the Spartans never let the Yellow Jackets extend their lead beyond four points. Down the stretch, junior outside hitter
Lyla Nash powered the Yellow Jacket offense with kills on the 21
st, 23
rd, and 24
th points. Fittingly, kills-leader Leach earned her 15
th kill on match-point to seal the win.
The Matchup
BW has now taken two straight matches from Case Western Reserve in the all-time series after losing the previous three. Since 2008, the Yellow Jackets are 8-11 against the Spartans.

This weekend, the Yellow Jackets will host the Buffalo State Bengals and the SUNY Geneseo Knights September 11 and 12 for the 2026 Marcia French Invitational inside Ursprung Gymnasium.
