WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and No. 9 nationally ranked 174-pound men's wrestler Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward) has been named the OAC Men's Wrestler of the Week for the second time in his career.

West brings home the weekly accolade after a dominant 5–0 run to the 174-pound title at the 61st North Central (Ill.) College Invitational, leading No. 18 BW to a seventh-place finish last Saturday.

He opened the invitational with a pinfall victory in 4:06 over Sargent Maubach of Eureka (Ill.) College.  West then picked up a 5-0 decision win over Jack Smith of Albion (Mich.) College.  He secured his second victory by pinfall in 3:38 over Corey Bradley of Elmhurst (Ill.) University.  West won his semifinal match with a 5-0 decision victory over Nick Alexander of No. 2 nationally ranked Augsburg (Minn.) University.  He claimed the title as well as his 100th career victory with a 2-0 decision over Christian Gilbert of Carthage (Wis.) College.

This season, West has a team best record of 17-1 with five pins, four technical falls and one major decision.  He is now a three-time invitational champion after winning the Adrian (Mich.) College Invitational and the BW Invitational earlier this season.

For his career, West is tied for 15th on the school's all-time wins list with a career record of 100-31.  He has recorded 35 pins, 18 technical falls and 12 major decisions.  West is a two-time NCAA Division III Championships national qualifier at 157-pounds, two-time All-Central Region honoree, two-time All-OAC first team selection and five time invitational champion.

Off the mat, he is a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, December 20 when they travel to Hendersonville, Tennessee to compete in the Gator "Boot" Duals hosted by Luther (Iowa) College in the McGavock High School Gymnasium at 9 a.m.
