BEREA, Ohio – In its lone home match of the fall season, the Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team fell to Ohio Wesleyan University in a non-conference match by a final score 5-2 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
BW (2-1) won one doubles matches and two singles matches. Ohio Wesleyan (1-0) won two doubles matches and four singles matches.
Doubles
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and sophomore Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W. Va.) fell at first doubles by a score of 7-6 and 7-5 in the tie breaker
- Senior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and freshman Carson Craig (Hartville/Lake) fell at second doubles by score of 6-1
- Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) and sophomore All-OAC Vinny Cannata (Aurora) won at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
- Horvath fell at first singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Craig fell at second singles by scores of 2-6, 6-1 and 6-4
- Cannata won at third singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-4
- Fenton won at fourth singles by scores of 6-1, 3-6 and 6-3
- Harders fell at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-4
- Weingart fell at sixth singles by scores of 1-6, 6-3 and 7-5
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 27 when they travel to Granville to compete in the Big Red Invitational hosted by Denison University on the Denison Tennis Courts at 9 a.m.
