BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team hosted the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents today at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts to earned a 6-1 victory, their first of the season.

The Yellow Jackets opened the match by winning two of three doubles contests to take a 1-0 lead. Vincent Cannata and Tyler Fenton earned a 6-3 victory over Jonah Jasek and Srivatsa Bellamkonda, while Severin Kretchmar and Caleb Goff defeated Jacob Bennett and Steven Duing, 6-4 to secure the doubles victory for Baldwin Wallace. In the final doubles match, Levi Schag and Sam Dalessandro would fall to Colby Peters and Nick Bussard, 7-5.
Baldwin Wallace carried its momentum into singles play, winning five of six matches. Cannata defeated Jasek, 6-2 and 6-1, while Kretchmar earned a 6-2 and 6-3 victory over Bennett. Fenton followed with a 6-3 and 6-4 win over Duing, and Goff defeated Peters, 6-4 and 6-4.
Schag battled back after dropping the opening set to defeat Bellamkonda, 5-7, 6-3, and 10-6. Bussard rounded out singles play with a 7-6(5) and 6-3 loss to Peters.

Baldwin Wallace will return to action from October 2-4 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championships in Brownsburg, Indiana.
