CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team competed this weekend at the ITA DIII Central Regional Championship, hosted by Wabash College.

In Flight C singles, Baldwin Wallace advanced two players to the Round of 16. Severin Kretchmar opened with a 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 victory over Wabash's Ettore Bona before falling to Hope's Blake Smith, 6-2 and 6-3, in the Round of 16. Tyler Fenton earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kalamazoo's Tom Clark in the Round of 32 before dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Wooster's Ian Royse in the Round of 16.
In Flight A singles, Vincent Cannata fell to Kenyon's Maximo Llamas, 6-1 and 6-0, in the Round of 64. Cannata then competed in the consolation draw, falling to Lake Forest's Rodrigo Cunha, 6-1 and 6-3
In doubles action, Cannata and Fenton fell to Chicago's Alexander Ekstrand and Gopal Koduri, 8-2, while Caleb Goff and Kretchmar dropped an 8-1 decision to WashU's Avi Mahajan and Jerry Han in the Round of 64.
Both BW doubles teams also competed in the consolation draw, with Cannata and Fenton falling to Albion's Brady Pettit and Jacob Plaskewicz, 8-4, and Goff and Kretchmar falling to Illinois Wesleyan's Tommy Sopko and Weston Lange, 8-3.
Looking Ahead
The Yellow Jackets will look to close out the fall season on a high note when they compete at the Wooster Invitational on Oct. 10-11 in Wooster, Ohio.
