Women’s Indoor Track and Field Wins Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team finished in first place with a total of 76 points at the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. There were five total teams competing.

Track Event Highlights

Senior Academic All-OAC sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name) finished in first place in the 55m dash finals with a personal record time of 7.46 seconds.
Sophomore Allie Carey (Strongsville) finished in first place in the 5000m run with a PR time of 18:59.30, which is also the best 5000m time of any Yellow Jacket this season.
Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding) finished in first in the 55m hurdle finals with her time of 8.34 seconds.

Field Event Highlights

Sophomore Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) set a weight throw personal record of 14.72m (48' 3.5") while finishing in second place.
Sophomore vaulter/jumper Lucy McChesney-Betler (Greensburg, Pa. / Salem) tied the indoor pole vault school record (and her personal record) of 3.35m (10' 11.75"). She hit this height first on December 6 in the season opener.
Junior All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) earned first place in the high jump with a 1.58m (5' 2.25") mark that she hit on the first attempt at this height.
