NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team had seven student-athletes named to the All-Great Lakes Region team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
 
To be selected for this honor, a student-athlete must have been in the top eight of an event in their region or been a member of one of their region's top eight relay teams.
 
The Yellow Jackets named All-Region were freshman OAC Champion thrower Alyssa Francis (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour), sophomore All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren/Harding), sophomore OAC Champion sprinter Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas/Bridgeland), sophomore All-Ohio vaulter Peyton Putnam (Shelby), sophomore All-Ohio thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge), junior All-OAC thrower Lexi Smith (Tiffin/Columbian), and freshman All-OAC distance runner Jillian White (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory).
 
Francis ranked third in the Great Lakes region with her personal record javelin throw of 39.18m (128' 6"). She earned a PR javelin throw for five consecutive weeks this season, earning the Women's Yellow Jacket of the Week award and OAC Champion honors in the process.
 
Honzu qualified for the All-Region team with her season-best 100m hurdles time of 14.26 seconds at the Harrison Dillard Twilight. This was a PR and ranked her No. 16 in the nation. She qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships and will compete on the national stage for the first time in her career later this week. Off the field, Honzu is a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection and a psychology major.
 
Moore ran her career-best 200m dash of 24.49 seconds to finish her sophomore season and earn All-Great Lakes Region honors. She also ran the 10^th-fastest 100m dash time in the region of 12.11 seconds at the Sparky Adams Invitational. Moore became the OAC Champion this season in both the 100m and 200m events. She was also named All-Ohio, All-OAC, and the OAC Sprinter of the Year.
 
Putnam had a top five pole vault mark of 3.68m (12' 0.75") to be named All-Region. She also earned a long jump PR this season of 4.78m (15' 8.25") and a 100m dash PR of 12.61 seconds. The sprinter/jumper/vaulter was named All-Ohio, All-OAC, and OAC Champion in the 4x100m relay with a 48.67 second finish at the OAC Outdoor Championships. Off the field, she is a music therapy major and a Jacket Scholar.
 
Rominger earned a career-best hammer throw of 49.04m (160' 11") to be named All-Great Lakes Region. She also earned All-Ohio honors this season in the hammer throw event on April 10. This is her first USTFCCCA All-Region recognition of her career.
 
Smith had her season-best javelin throw of 37.82m (124' 1") at the OAC Outdoor Championships to earn a silver medal. This throw was the fourth-best mark in the region, earning her All-Region honors. She earned two more personal records at this meet in the hammer throw (44.36m/145' 6") and discus throw (34.37m/112' 9") to end her junior season on a high note. Off the field, Smith is a dean's list student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honor societies.
 
White had a season-best 800m run time of 2:15.05 in her final meet of the season to earn All-Region honors. Her rookie season also included All-OAC honors after placing third at the OAC Outdoor Championships in the 800m run. In April, she earned a PR 1500m time of 4:58.19.
