BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field, led by Head Coach
Joe Eby, wrapped up the two-day Harrison Dillard Twilight meet at Baldwin Wallace University on the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds and inside George Finnie Stadium. This meet was unscored.
BW hosted over 50 teams and 66 unattached athletes to commemorate the late Baldwin Wallace graduate and Olympic gold medalist Harrison Dillard. He graduated from BW in 1949 after winning four national titles in the hurdles in his collegiate career. Professionally, Dillard won four Olympic gold medals to go down as one of the best sprinters and hurdlers in United States Olympic history. He passed away on November 15, 2019 at the age of 96.
Track Event Highlights
- Sophomore OAC Champion sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren/Harding) finished the 100m hurdles in second place with a 14.26 second finish, which is a personal record and No. 15 in the nation. She finished behind the No. 5 100m hurdles competitor in the country in Katherine Dortmund of Ohio Wesleyan.
- Freshman distance runner Gabby Vennetti (Boardman) took fifth place in the 3000m steeplechase in the cold with a time of 11:45.51. This career-best beat her previous PR by over seven seconds.
- Sophomore OAC Champion sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas/Bridgeland) finished the 200m dash with a time of 25.69 seconds to place fourth.
Field Event Highlights
- Freshman OAC Champion thrower Alyssa Francis (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) finished in third place in the javelin throw with a 36.63m (120' 2") mark.
- Sophomore All-Ohio thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) earned third place with a hammer throw of 46.94m (154').
