DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace cross country team competed at the OWU Invitational in Delaware, Ohio at Liberty Park. The women raced in their third 6k of the year, while the men raced in their third 8k of the season. The women finished second out of 12 teams, while the men finished fourth out of 14 teams.
Starting with the women, freshman
Katherine Kaster (7th) led the way for the Brown and Gold with a time of 22:56.5. Following behind her was
Jillian White (12th) who crossed the line at 23:06.7. A few steps behind her was
Allie Carey (13th) who finished in a time of 23:07.4. Running behind her was
Amy Burchett (25th) who went across the line at 23:29.2.
Gabby Vennetti (37th) posted a final time of 23:51.6 to round out the top five for the Yellow Jackets.
As for the men, the Brown and Gold were led by junior
Michael Dorris (13th) who finished with a time of 26:07.2. Trailing behind him with a time of 26:13.5 was
Dillon Hach (18th). Following behind him was
Nick Swartz (20th) who crossed the line in 26:29.8.
Connor Kramer (27th) followed him with a time of 26:43.3. The Yellow Jackets' top five was rounded out by
Cooper Enyeart (32nd) who posted a time of 26:51.6.
A highlight performance on the women's side was Burchett who ran a career best personal record in the 6k by 37 seconds. On the men's side a standout performance came from Kramer who also ran a career best personal record by 49 seconds in the 8k.
The Yellow Jackets are off next weekend and return to action when they compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 17th at the Oberlin College North Fields in Oberlin, Ohio.
