BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team, led by head coach
Joe Eby, earned third place in the DIII All-Ohio Indoor Championships at Otterbein University. There were two Yellow Jackets who earned All-Ohio honors. They also competed in the Ohio Wesleyan Open on Friday.
At the All-Ohio Championships, student-athletes were named All-Ohio because of their top-three placement in their events.
OWU Open Track Event Highlights
- Sophomore Lauren Jensch (Chippewa Lake/Cloverleaf) finished in second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:29.81.
OWU Open Field Event Highlights
- Sophomore thrower Peyton Essenmacher (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) won the shot put with her 10.36m (34') put.
- Sophomore Kaleigh Lilly (Streetsboro) finished in second place in the shot put with a mark of 10.30m (33' 9.5").
- Sophomore thrower Addison Rogers (Bellevue) landed in first place in the weight throw with a 13.57m (44' 6.25") throw while earning a new personal record.
All-Ohio Championships Track Event Highlights
- Senior Megan Hughes (Oregon/Clay) earned a PR with her fourth-place 800m race finish of 2:22.83. This is now the best time of any Yellow Jacket this season and ranks fourth in the OAC.
- First-year Gabby Vennetti (Boardman) earned a PR in the 3000m run with a time of 11:05.47.
All-Ohio Championships Field Event Highlights
- Junior All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) was named All-Ohio in the high jump with a clear height of 1.56m (5' 1.25") while taking second place.
- Sophomore Women's Yellow Jacket of the Week Lucy McChesney (Greensburg, Pa./Salem) set a school record in the pole vault for the second consecutive week with her All-Ohio height of 3.57m (11' 8.5"). She has hit a school-record height four times this season in the event.
- McChesney also finished in second place in the long jump with a PR jump of 5.10m (16' 8.75") to be named All-Ohio in the long jump too.
- Sophomore Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) earned a weight throw PR of 15.68m (51' 5.5"). She has set a PR for three consecutive meets, improving her personal best mark by 1.37m in just 15 days.

- Women's indoor track and field will return to Case Western Reserve to compete in the Ed Finnegan Invitational on Friday, February 20 in the Veale Convocation, Recreation, and Athletic Center in their last meet before the OAC indoor championships.
