BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team, led by head coach
Tony Tatro, beat the Kenyon Owls by a final score of 11-10 in overtime on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium in the 2026 season opener.
BW (1-0) was led by junior attack/midfielder
Noah Dodgion as he scored three goals while giving out two assists. Sophomore goalie
Aidan Malone made 18 saves in his first career start.
Kenyon was led by Gavin Gumucio who scored three goals while adding an assist.
1st Quarter (4-2 BW)
- Dodgion scored the Yellow Jackets' first goal of the 2026 season
- Senior All-OAC attack/midfielder Nate Hoover (Worthington) gave out two assists
- BW won the ground ball battle picking up for five compared to the Owl's four
2nd Quarter (6-3 BW)
- Senior attack/midfielder Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) scored his first goal of the season
- Senior defender Gavin Pate (Clarkston, Mich.) caused a turnover
- Malone made six saves
3rd Quarter (9-4 BW)
- BW opened the half with a goal from senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack/midfielder Bennet Trout (Pickerington / North)
- Junior face-off specialist Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) won three of four face-offs
- Senior All-OAC attack/midfielder Jake Koonmen (Fairport, N.Y.) scored off of an assist by junior attack/midfielder Paxton Allison (Redondo Beach, Calif. / St. John Bosco)
4th Quarter (10-10)
- Goal by Allison assisted by Trout
- The Yellow Jackets picked up four ground balls
Overtime (11-10 BW)
- All-OAC attack/midfielder Ian Shealy (Westerville / Central) sealed the game off of an assist from Dodgion
