TIFFIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team concluded the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships with a fourth-place finish and 83 total points at Heidelberg University.
Sophomore OAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Jameire Honzu (Warren/Harding) became the OAC champion in the 60m hurdles while also being named Indoor All-OAC. The top three finishers in each final event were bestowed Indoor All-OAC honors. Six Yellow Jackets earned Indoor All-OAC honors over the two days for the women and 12 earned the honors for the men, making it 18 total All-OAC student-athletes.
Track Event Highlights
- Honzu won the 60m hurdles finals with a first-place time of 9.01 seconds. She scored 10 points for BW and beat the closest competitor by .17 seconds.
- Sophomore Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas/Bridgeland) landed third place and Indoor All-OAC honors in the 60m dash with a final time of 7.95 seconds. Moore again earned All-OAC in the 200m dash with a season-best time of 25.95 seconds to take third place.
- First-year distance runner Jillian White (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and junior Academic All-OAC runner Abbie George (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) combined for 10 points in the 1000m run while both setting personal records. White finished in third and earned Indoor All-OAC honors with a time of 3:08.58, and George finished in fifth with a 3:09.11 time.
Field Event Highlights
- Junior All-Ohio jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa./ Grove City Area) earned Indoor All-OAC honors and third place with her season-best high jump of 1.62m (5' 3.75").
- Sophomore thrower Delaney Friscone (Columbia Station/Columbia) scored for BW while earning a personal record in the shot put with an 11.67m (38' 3.5") put.
Relay Event Highlights
- Moore, Honzu, senior Academic All-OAC sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma/Holy Name), sophomore Indoor All-OAC jumper Peyton Putnam (Shelby), and sophomore sprinter Bri Almasy (Elyria/St. Joseph Academy) finished the 4x200m relay with a season-best time of 1:47.66.
