HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team defeated Mount Western New England (Mass.) University in a non-conference match by a final score of 6-1 on the Cordillo Courts.
BW (6-1) won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. Western New England (2-5) won one singles matches.
Doubles
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and senior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) won at first doubles by a score of 6-3
- Sophomore All-OAC Vinny Cannata (Aurora) and sophomore Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W.Va.) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-3
- Freshman Caleb Goff (Bowling Green) and freshman Sevie Kretchmar (Vermillion) won at third doubles by a score of 6-3
Singles
- Horvath won at first singles by identical scores of 6-2
- Cannata won at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-4
- Fenton won at third singles by scores of 3-6, 7-5 and 1-0 (10-7)
- Harders won at fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
- Kretchmar won at fifth singles by scores of 6-3, 5-7 and 1-0 (10-6)
- Freshman Matt Swank (Bozeman, Mont./Galatin) fell at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
The Yellow Jackets close out their spring break trip to Hilton Head on Friday, March 13 when they play a pair of non-conference matches against Messiah (Pa.) University and Catholic (D.C.) University at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
